Environment

Negative impacts can occur in a country from tourism when the amount of tourist visiting is greater than the environment can cope. Forcing a country that is dependent on tourism to expand, threatening natural areas and habitats for animals. This expansion can lead to an increase in soil erosion, pollution, discharge into the sea, natural habitat loss, endangered species and deforestation. It also puts pressure on the country to supply the tourist with the best resources like water, food, living condition and as a consequence of this, the country usually forgets about their citizen who is living there.

Tourism in Nepal as put the country under pressure to produce fresh water. Nepal produce a large amount of fresh water every year to provide for every citizen in the country and tourist from the snow cover on top of the Himalayas to the River Basin and groundwater but the water usually gets polluted and dirty because of their poor wastage system and pollution. Tourist has complain about getting sick from the water in Nepal in the past and today it is still a massive issue.

Tourism in Nepal has produced pressure on the country local resources. With the shops and market having to consistently be filled with food resources for tourist. Agriculture which produces more than 80% of the country’s money is starting to be threatened. As the farmers and land owners consistently use the land to grow crops and raw material which has impacted soil of the land.

Land degradation is starting to be a big issue in Nepal. Being a small country, full with mountains terrain. Nepal doesn't have that much space to grow but because of the high demands of tourism brings, Nepal are consistently having to provide expand and built. As well as produce fossil fuels for factories and cars which result in more air pollution in the country and a high carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
